In 2018, Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo announced that 2019 would be an official “year of return.” To mark the solemn 400th anniversary of the transatlantic slave trade, Ghana is extending an invitation to reunite Africans on the continent with Africans in the diaspora.
