Deaths due to road accidents is a more serious issue than the pandemic. This was stated by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Every year, about 1.50 lakh people die in India in road accidents, which is the highest in the world. More than 3% loss is caused to GDP due to road accidents every year. In this regard, Tamil Nadu has taken some drastic measures that have resulted in a 54% reduction in road fatalities in the last four year.
