This Artist’s Ice Capsules Keep Summer Frozen In Time
Shintaro Okamoto makes art out of ice. While the artist is known for carving elaborate ice sculptures, Coors Light recently challenged him to create frozen time capsules celebrating the best of summer. Using special freezers at his ice studio in Queens, New York, Okamoto froze everything from fruit to a baseball bat to a patch of grass in giant blocks of ice. He likens the process to stopping time. Get a closer look at Okamato’s studio to watch the ice sculptor at work.
